Unearthed
Unearthed was a project devised and designed and delivered by Songschool, The Riverbank Arts Centre and KELT.
An intensive 6 month programme which covered many different areas of the music industry, with seminars, master-classes and mentoring, radio interviews, recording sessions and filming for the artists involved.
A total of 6 bands and 2 solo artists were chosen to participate in this programme, the ages ranged from 14years to 21 years, all from Co Kildare. Each group was given a series of individual mentoring sessions focusing on songwriting, arrangements, instrumentation and performance.
On top of this a series of masterclasses for Drums, Bass, and Guitar were held which were also open to the public to attend. Seminars covering the following topics were conducted by guest speakers from the music industry; Music Media, PR, Management, Music Rights Protection, Record Companies, and Music Collectives.
All of this was preparing the groups for a very intensive week of recording from which a compilation Album was recorded. A DVD was also filmed to document the performance of each group separately in the Celbridge studios.
At the end of the programme 2 concerts were staged (The Moat Theatre, and The Riverbank Arts Centre) to showcase the talents of the artists participating.
